In terms of efficacy, this study met all the secondary endpoints assessing pruritus, skin healing and AD patients’ quality of life by demonstrating remarkable differences between SM17 treatment groups and placebo group.This study was a 16-week, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study to assess the tolerability, safety and efficacy of SM17 monotherapy in 32 adults with moderate-to-severe AD, most of whom were previously inadequate responder to topical corticosteroids (TCS). Patients with a history of biologic (Dupilumab) or systemic Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor medication (Upadacitinib) were also enrolled in the study.At week 12, 75.0% of patients（9 /12） in the higher dose group achieved ≥75% reduction from baseline in EASI-75, vs. 0.0% of patients in the placebo group, with difference of responder rate as 75.0%（95% CI：32.00~91.11）. In the lower dose group, 50.0% of patients (6/12) achieved EASI-75, a 50.0% difference vs. placebo (95%CI：9.27~74.62).In the higher dose group, 41.7% of patients (5/12) achieved a validated Investigator's Global Assessment for Atopic Dermatitis (vIGA-AD™) score of 0 (clear) or 1 (almost clear) with a ≥2-point reduction from baseline (vIGA-AD 0/1) at week 12, representing a 41.7% difference vs. placebo (95%CI: 2.28~68.05). In the lower dose group, 25.0% of patients (3/12) achieved this endpoint, a 25.0% difference vs. placebo (95%CI: -11.22~53.23).It is particularly noteworthy that 91.7% of patients (11/12) in the higher dose group achieved a peak pruritus numeric rating scale (PP-NRS) weekly mean score with a ≥4-point reduction from baseline (NRS-4) at week 12, vs. 0.0% of patients in the placebo group. Even in the lower dose group, 66.7% of patients (8/12) achieved this endpoint, remarkably different to that of the placebo group.With regard to the onset of action, SM17 showed obvious anti-pruritus effect as early as week 2 after the initial dose, in either the higher or the lower dose group. The altitude of improvement in pruritus for SM17 treatment groups increased alongside with dosing and reached a mean level of 68% and 57% reduction from baseline in PP-NRS score at week 12, for higher and lower dose groups, respectively, vs. 18% for placebo group. Improvement in pruritus was also maintained for both SM17 treatment groups until week 16, which was 6 weeks away from last dosing (week 10). SM17 uniquely blocks one of the IL-25 receptor subunits (IL-17RB) in a non-competitive manner. We have in-house data supporting that SM17 can block receptor signal transduction without affecting IL-25 engagement with the receptor, so SM17 can provide fast anti-pruritic and anti-inflammatory effects arising from IL-25/IL-25 receptor interactions.Additionally, the number of receptors on cell surface is limited, and if sufficient antibodies against the receptor are added and all receptors blocked, therapeutic response will persist regardless of the amount of IL-25 released. This is the case for SM17, which blocks the limited number of receptors on cell surface. Once fully occupied, it stops the signaling regardless of IL-25 levels. Operations are scheduled to begin in mid-2027. The new ironmaking process has a projected capacity of 3 tons per hour and will produce hot metal and hot briquetted iron using the HYFOR and Smelter technologies developed by Primetals. Rio Tinto will supply 70 percent of the iron ore for the Project.HYFOR is the world’s first direct reduction technology for iron ore fines that does not require any agglomeration steps and enables the use of a wide variety of iron ores as feedstock. (MHIEC), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, has completed refurbishment of the core facilities of Eco Clean Plaza Miyazaki, a waste-to-energy plant in Miyazaki city in southern part of Kyushu. The refurbishment work, which was ordered in 2021, took place over a four-year span from FY2021 through FY2024. The refurbishment, enabling a waste treatment capacity of 579 tonnes per day (tpd), has extended the plant's service life and achieved reduction in CO2 emissions.Eco Clean Plaza Miyazaki encompasses facilities not only for waste incineration but also recycling and final waste management. It treats waste from Miyazaki city as well as nine nearby localities. The incineration facilities were designed and constructed by MHI and completed in October 2005. They incorporate three stoker type incinerators(Note1) each having a waste treatment capacity of 193 tpd, and related facilities. Power generation capacity using waste heat is 11,200 kW.Under the refurbishment work, upgrades have been made to major equipment superannuated after more than 15 years in operation, to achieve stable combustion and operation over the long term. Replacements include equipment involved in combustion, cooling of combustion gas, waste gas treatment, waste heat utilization, ventilation, and ash removal, as well as electrical instrumentation. Plant service life extension work was carried out adopting MHIEC's proprietary new combustion control system. Stable combustion has been realized with a lower air ratio(Note2) than previously.A CO2 reduction rate of 31.86%(Note3) was attained, significantly higher than the original 17.25% target. Factors contributing to the higher rate include: replacement to a feeder and boiler piping that enable higher durability responding to the low air ratio; increased power generation making efficient use of waste steam, achieved by changing to a low-temperature denitration catalyst; and the compound effects of adopting high-efficiency motors, converting to inverter type equipment, and optimization of plant equipment.The refurbishment work was difficult because it had to be undertaken amid continuing waste treatment, and because it coincided with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. As core events of BIT Week, the 3rd InnoEX and the 21st Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) will be staged concurrently from 13 to 16 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The two exhibitions will showcase global innovation and technology (I&T) achievements, leading-edge electronics products, and advanced technology solutions addressing various business pain points. The event will also offer SMEs solutions, helping businesses across various industries leverage technology to address challenges and create new opportunities.Earlier, the HKSAR Government announced the first batch of the low-altitude economy Regulatory Sandbox pilot projects. InnoEX closely follows market trends, presenting solutions from various drone and air vehicle industry companies. On the first day of the exhibition (13 April), the theme will be the low-altitude economy, featuring major drone companies from Mainland China and a multinational firm building the "low-altitude smart network". Experts will share strategies for advancing the low-altitude economy in Mainland China and explore development directions for Hong Kong and beyond. Another key topic on the same day will be the technology-driven economy, featuring the “Tech-Driven Industry and Economy Conference" powered by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. This will bring together government officials and tech leaders from around the world to discuss innovation and sustainable development strategies.The second day of the exhibition (14 April) will focus on AI and robotics. Discussions will explore how AI enhances business efficiency, as well as the latest trends in robotics.The third day (15 April) will focus on cybersecurity, addressing challenges faced by critical infrastructure operators in data protection and how businesses can improve their capabilities to respond to cyberattacks.The last day (16 April) will be dedicated to SME solutions. Government representatives will engage with SMEs to introduce support schemes that help them overcome financial challenges. Several technology solution providers will also present innovative tools designed to help SMEs with digital transformation and enhance their competitiveness.Bringing together global technologies with major Mainland China enterprises and 17 pavilions participatingInnoEX will bring together research and development outcomes and innovative solutions from around the world. Among the highlights is the Smart Hong Kong Pavilion, established by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Digital Policy Office, which will focus on data-driven applications and AI applications. Over 100 I&T innovations closely related to daily life will be showcased, including innovative solutions from 20 government bureaux and departments, as well as award-winning works and solutions from various I&T competitions. Notable projects include the "Tumbler Inspection Ball" by the Drainage Services Department, which won the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024. This robot has made significant inroads into the inspection of underground tunnels in confined space.Four R&D centers under the Innovation and Technology Commission will also participate, including the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM), and the Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI). In addition, InnoHK will showcase 17 research laboratories, while Cyberport and Hong Kong Science Park will each present 20 and 16 promising start-up companies respectively. The local pavilion also includes the B4B Challenge, and the Smart City Consortium.On the international front, the exhibition has attracted pavilions from Canada and the United Kingdom, and also the French So French So Innovative pavilion, which will showcase some 30 renowned French innovation and technology enterprises. Additionally, the international organisation Smart Cities Council, which promotes smart city development, will participate for the first time.As the development of new quality productive forces is the national priority, this year 17 pavilions from 16 provinces in Mainland China will participate in InnoEX, including pavilions from Beijing Zhongguancun, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.
